Quotations and Estimates

Any quotations or estimates provided by St Pauls Paving Ltd are based on the information available at the time of preparation. We aim to provide accurate and competitive pricing; however, quotations are subject to the following conditions:

  • A site visit may be required before we can confirm a final quotation. Initial estimates are provided based on information you supply, and the final price may vary following a detailed assessment of the site.
  • Quotations are valid for a period of [QUOTATION VALIDITY PERIOD] from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated.
  • Should the scope of work change—due to additional requirements, unforeseen site conditions, or modifications to the original specification—we reserve the right to adjust the quotation accordingly.
  • All quotations must be confirmed in writing before work commences. Verbal agreements alone do not constitute a contract.

Formal project-specific quotations, agreements or contracts may include additional terms and conditions relevant to the specific project where appropriate.

Scope of Works

All work carried out by St Pauls Paving Ltd will be based on the agreed quotation or project specification as confirmed in writing. The scope of works is defined at the point of quotation and contract agreement.

Should you wish to make changes to the agreed scope of works after a contract is in place—such as adding extra areas, requesting different materials, or altering the design—please discuss this with us as soon as possible. Such changes may affect the overall cost, materials required, and projected timescales.

We will discuss any implications of proposed changes with you and confirm any adjustments to the project cost and timeline before proceeding with additional work.

Materials and Product Availability

The materials and products we use for your project are sourced from various suppliers and manufacturers. While we strive to use the materials specified in your quotation, please note the following:

  • All materials are subject to availability at the time of ordering. In the event that a particular product or material is no longer available, we will discuss suitable alternatives with you.
  • Colours, textures and finishes of paving slabs, blocks, resin and other materials may vary slightly from sample displays, photographs or previous batches, due to natural variations in manufacturing and raw materials.
  • We recommend that you select your preferred materials from actual samples where possible, rather than relying solely on photographs or digital images.

Access and Site Conditions

As the customer, you are responsible for providing reasonable access to the property and the work area on the agreed start date. This includes clear access for delivery of materials and equipment, and adequate space for our team to carry out the work safely and efficiently.

Please ensure that the work area is clear of obstructions, vehicles, garden furniture and other items before our team arrives.

During the course of work, unforeseen ground conditions may become apparent—for example, issues with existing drainage, unstable soil, buried utilities or structures, or other site-specific challenges. Where such conditions are discovered, we will discuss the implications with you and agree on any necessary adjustments to the work or cost before proceeding.

Timescales and Scheduling

Project start dates and completion times provided at the quotation stage are estimates, unless otherwise agreed in writing as part of a formal contract. We will make every reasonable effort to commence and complete your project within the stated timeframe.

Please note that the following factors may affect scheduling and are beyond our reasonable control:

  • Adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain, frost, snow or high winds
  • Unforeseen site conditions requiring additional work or time
  • Delays in material or product supply from third-party suppliers
  • Availability of specialist equipment or labour
  • Circumstances affecting access to the site

Should any significant delay arise, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you as soon as possible to discuss the situation and agree on a revised schedule.

Payments

Our payment terms are as follows, unless otherwise agreed in writing as part of a specific project agreement:

  • Deposit: A deposit of [DEPOSIT PERCENTAGE]% of the total project cost may be required upon acceptance of a quotation to secure your booking and cover the cost of materials. This deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation after materials have been ordered.
  • Stage Payments: For larger projects, stage payments may be agreed upon at key milestones—such as upon completion of groundworks or upon delivery of materials. [PAYMENT TERMS]
  • Final Payment: The balance of the total amount due is payable upon completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Final payment is due within [PAYMENT DUE DATE] of the invoice date.
  • Late Payment: We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. If payment is significantly overdue, we may suspend further work on your project until outstanding amounts are settled.

Payment methods accepted include [PAYMENT METHODS]. All payments should be made to St Pauls Paving Ltd as detailed on your invoice.

Cancellations and Changes

Once work has been booked, materials have been ordered, or labour has been scheduled, cancellation or postponement terms will apply. We understand that circumstances can change, and we aim to handle such situations fairly and reasonably.

[CANCELLATION POLICY]

If you wish to cancel or postpone your project, please contact us as soon as possible in writing. The amount refunded (if any) will depend on the stage at which cancellation occurs, the cost of materials already ordered, and any labour costs incurred.

We reserve the right to cancel a booking or contract if circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent us from carrying out the work. In such cases, we will refund any payments made in advance in full.

Guarantees and Workmanship

St Pauls Paving Ltd takes pride in the quality of our workmanship. Any workmanship guarantee or product warranty details will be set out clearly in your project-specific quotation or contract where applicable.

[GUARANTEE DETAILS]

Guarantees typically cover defects in workmanship for a specified period following completion of the project. Guarantees do not cover:

  • Damage caused by external factors, including subsidence, ground movement, or tree roots
  • Wear and tear from normal use
  • Damage caused by third parties or lack of reasonable maintenance
  • Issues arising from changes to the site or surrounding areas after completion

To validate any guarantee, we may require evidence that regular maintenance has been carried out where applicable. Please speak to us for full details of what is covered under your specific guarantee.

Liability

St Pauls Paving Ltd undertakes to carry out all work with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with industry standards and best practices. We maintain appropriate public liability insurance to cover potential claims arising from our work.

Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for:

  • Delays or issues caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including adverse weather, supplier delays, or unforeseen site conditions
  • Any loss or damage arising from information provided by the customer that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Damage to underground services or utilities that were not clearly marked or disclosed prior to work commencing
  • Normal wear and tear to the completed work over time

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded or limited.
